National Computerization Agency

The Korea National Computerization Agency (NCA) (Korean: 한국 전산원) is a statutory government agency acting as Korea's top IT policy and technical support agency. It plays a key role in informatizing the nation of Korea in the era of knowledge and information.

Overview

The agency was founded by Article 10 of the Framework Act on Information Promotion for the purpose of promoting informatization and to support development of related policies for Korean national agencies and local autonomies.

Since its establishment in 1987, NCA has laid the foundation for Korea to leap forward as an IT stronghold, from spearheading the Korean National Basic Infrastructure System Project to constructing high-speed information networks.

On the basis of a world-class IT infrastructure, NCA was able to launch the e-Government project to enhance public convenience and improve administrative efficiency, as well as implementing imformatization projects designed to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium sized businesses.
